6,000W CYC X1 Pro Gen 4 Motor

At the heart of the Bonnell 775 MX is the CYC X1 Pro Gen 4 drive system.

This high-performance system produces up to:

6,000W peak power
280Nm torque at the crank

The integrated torque sensor allows the system to respond to rider input when using pedal assistance, while the full-twist throttle provides another way of accessing the bike’s performance.

This means the character of the 775 MX can change considerably depending on how it’s ridden and configured.

Full-Twist Throttle & Torque-Sensing Pedal Assist

The Bonnell 775 MX combines both pedal assistance and throttle control.

A Lekkie Pacemaker full-twist throttle is fitted, while the motor’s torque-sensing pedal-assist system responds to rider input through the pedals.

The Bonnell Ride Control App also allows compatible power and assistance settings to be adjusted, giving riders greater control over how the bike delivers its performance.

65V 1300Wh Removable Battery

Power comes from the CYC A65 Series 1300Wh battery.

The high-capacity 65V battery uses Samsung 50S cells and features an aluminium enclosure designed to help with heat dissipation.

An advanced dual-layer Battery Management System monitors important parameters including temperature, charging and current.

The battery is removable, allowing it to be taken out of the bike or swapped where required

Under 4-Hour Charging

Despite its substantial 1300Wh capacity, Bonnell states that the battery can reach a full charge in under four hours using the supplied charger.

Actual charging times can vary depending on battery state, temperature and other conditions.

Bonnell quotes an approximate riding range of:

20–60km
or approximately 12–37 miles

Actual range will depend heavily on how the bike is ridden. Terrain, rider weight, gradients, temperature, tyre pressures, power mode, throttle use and pedal assistance can all affect the distance achievable from a charge.

Riding aggressively at maximum power will naturally produce considerably different results from riding predominantly with pedal assistance.

One of the most impressive aspects of the Bonnell 775 MX is its power-to-weight proposition.

That relatively low weight is a major part of what separates the 775 MX from many heavier electric dirt bikes. Rather than relying purely on outright power, the Bonnell platform combines substantial electric performance with a chassis intended to remain agile, responsive and manageable on demanding terrain.

Bonnell 775 MX Top Speed

With its standard gearing, Bonnell quotes approximately:

37mph / 60km/h with the standard 24T rear sprocket.

Alternative sprockets can change the balance between acceleration, low-speed torque and maximum speed. Bonnell currently quotes approximately 40mph / 65km/h with a 22T sprocket, while larger sprockets sacrifice some maximum speed in favour of greater low-speed torque.

Actual speed will vary depending on gearing, rider, terrain, conditions and bike setup.

Suntour RUX 38 RC+ Dual-Crown Forks

The front suspension is proper downhill equipment.

The Suntour RUX 38 RC+ dual-crown fork provides a substantial 200mm of front suspension travel.

This gives the 775 MX the suspension capability required for demanding off-road terrain rather than relying on basic recreational e-bike components.

170mm Suntour Voro Coil Rear Suspension

At the rear is a Suntour Voro Coil shock, delivering 170mm of rear-wheel travel.

The suspension provides adjustment for compression and rebound, allowing the bike to be tuned according to rider preference and terrain.

Different spring rates are supplied according to frame size, while the chassis also provides Comfort and Sport shock mounting positions for further setup adjustment.

Magura MT5 Four-Piston Brakes

With up to 6,000W available, strong braking performance is essential.

The Bonnell 775 MX uses Magura MT5 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes. These are paired with large rotors:

220mm front
203mm rear

The system provides the stopping performance expected from a serious downhill/off-road machine.

29”/27.5” Mullet Wheel Setup

The Bonnell 775 MX uses a modern mullet wheel configuration:

29-inch front wheel
27.5-inch rear wheel

The larger front wheel helps with rollover and stability over rough terrain, while the smaller rear helps maintain a more agile and responsive rear end.

Both ends use 2.5-inch Maxxis Assegai tyres with DH casing and MaxxGrip compound. A Tannus Armour insert is also fitted to the rear wheel for additional rim and puncture protection

Bonnell Ride Control App

The 775 MX can be connected to the Bonnell Ride Control App using Bluetooth.

Compatible settings and information include power modes, pedal-assist behaviour and aspects of the throttle and torque-sensor response.

The app can also display information including:

Component temperatures
Riding information

The app is available for compatible iPhone and Android devices.

CYC Intuition Smart Display

The integrated CYC Intuition display gives riders important information directly from the cockpit.

Information includes speed, battery level, riding mode and performance data. This provides the rider with a clean and modern interface without needing to rely entirely on a connected smartphone.

Serious Off-Road Chassis

The Bonnell 775 MX chassis has been designed around demanding riding.

Its construction combines a 4130 chromoly front triangle with aluminium rear chassis components, while sealed suspension bearings, reinforced wheel components and adjustable dropouts contribute to a platform built around performance.

The result is a bike that sits somewhere between the worlds of high-performance downhill mountain biking and lightweight electric dirt bikes.
